In its citation for the award in the Major Special Construction category for Residential Buildings over Rs. 150 million, the ICTAD Quality Journal 2007 said, “Sanken Lanka has achieved the status of excellence for their competence in the execution of construction works and managing and completing the project successfully in the construction of Capitol Residencies Luxury Apartments.” Ranjith Gunatilleke, General Manager/Managing Director of Sanken Lanka, said the company is a Sri Lankan venture and has completed over 200 projects in Sri Lanka. “One of the big projects is the Empire City twin towers and the ICTAD award for our Capitol Residencies speaks volumes for our integrity, expertise, professionalism and efficiency in meeting our clients’ objectives and time schedules,” he said.

Earlier the company successfully completed the New Parliamentary Complex in 1981 under the Mitsui Construction Co. Ltd, Tokyo.

Over the years, in its efforts to provide a superior service to its clients, Sanken Lanka has obtained the M1 in 2003, the highest Grading from the ICTAD; membership of NCASL under the Major Specialist Construction Category; the ISO 9001-2000 certification, etc., an impeccable testimony to Sanken Lanka’s penchant for strict adherence to superior standards, in quality and time.

Sanken Lanka said it has successfully completed over 200 projects, both in Sri Lanka and overseas, especially in the building trade varying from single storied to high rises of 41 floors like the Empire City Twin Tower Complex at Braybrooke Place, the tallest building in Sri Lanka, up to date.

Among the major projects Sanken has constructed are landmark edifices like the Majestic City, Odel, House of Fashions, HNB Towers, Hyde Park Residencies, Capitol Residencies, etc.

“In the hotel sector among the projects are the Leq Kandyan, Earl’s Regency, The Fortress, etc,” said Gunatilleke, a Chartered Engineer who graduated in 1975 and is a member of the Institute of Engineers, Sri Lanka and Institute of Civil Engineers, UK for more than 25 years.
