‘Yahaluwo’ now at Regal

'Yahaluwo' (Friends), the latest film by veteran filmmaker Sumithra Peries is now being screened at Regal Cinema Colombo. Making his entry to cinema Dr. Namal Senasinghe produced the film which comprises a talented star cast including Iranganie Serasinghe, Tony Ranasinghe, Kamal Addararachchi, Anarkali Jayatilleke, Swetha Hansa, Rathna Sumanapala and Thesara Jayawardena Liyanage. Playing in the stellar cast Sujeewa Senasinghe plays his debut role while Indian born Pooja Uma Shankar plays opposite. The child actor Himasal Thathsara Liyanage plays the lead.

The story is based on Sri Lankan writer Fahima Sahabdeen's story and experienced actor and script writer Tony Ranasinghe penned the dialogues for the film. The main story revolves around Rajiv, a typical upper middle-class boy from Colombo of mixed parentage. His Tamil mother Manorani a doctor by profession and his father Asoka a very successful Sinhalese businessman . As both his parents go to work each day, Rajiv relies on his many servants of various ethnic origins, for company.

In his curiosity and zest for life, Rajiv becomes involved in the love and hatred, the entanglements and ethnic problems between his servants.
