Wavenet, Mobitel in deal over 3.5G space

Sri Lanka can now experience the exciting world of video with the launch of Mobitel 3.5G services. Mobitel users can today access Video Mail, Video SMS, Video on Demand, Video Sharing and Movlogging provided by Wavenet International, according to an official statement.

“We have been working together with Mobitel round the clock over the past few weeks to provide UGC (user generated content) services to the local market ahead of most of our regional competitors and with this launch we have once again put Sri Lanka on the map as a force to be reckoned with in the international telecom space,” said Suren Pinto, CEO of Wavenet International.

Mobitel CEO Suren Amarasekera said his company is committed to the growth of Super 3.5G and related services in Sri Lanka.”
Wavenet says under its Video Services Delivery Platform (VSDP) it offersr both CIRCUIT SWITCHED and PACKET SWITCHED video – guaranteeing users of higher bandwidth, smoother downloads and faster access to the new world of mobile video entertainment.
