CCC School of Cricket

The Fourth International Invitation Cricket Tournament for the Nelson Mendis Challenge Trophy will be held from December 8 – 21, 2007.

The CCC School of Cricket, under the guidance of senior cricket coach Nelson Mendis, was started in February 1998, and has been at the forefront of Cricket Coaching Academies during the last nine years.

The school has participated in many international cricket tournaments in India and Malaysia.

This year, in May, the school's under 12 team repeated their last year's victory when they won the coveted, 'All India Pepsi Cup Tournament' by beating several top Indian teams. The CCC School of Cricket has also hosted many Junior International Cricket teams from Australia, England, India, Malaysia, the U.A.E., Singapore and Hongkong.

It is with this experience and background that the Committee of Management of CCC School of Cricket, mainly consisting of parents, thought it appropriate to continue to conduct a tournament of this nature and magnitude for the fourth year in succession.

In addition to teams from Colombo city, teams from Anuradhapura, Kurunegala, Panadura, Bentota, Wattala, Ambalangoda and Kandy along with several teams from the outskirts of Colombo such as Kotte, Nugegoda, Pelawatte, Malabe, Rajagiriya, Kesbewa, Boralesgamuwa and Pannipitiya have also entered for the 2007 tournament.

The Awards Night will be held on December 21, 2007, at the Bishop's College Auditorium.
