Edmund writes on the ‘Girl at the Ferry’

Edmund Jayasuriya, who earlier published his memoirs as Assistant Government Agent in the Anuradhapura District both in Sinhala and English (Vev Bendi Rajje Savariyak - Sojourn in Lake Country), has now written a Sinhala novel Thotupoledee Hamuvu Yuvatiya, (Girl at the Ferry), which will be launched at the National Library and Documentation Services Board, Independence Square, Colombo 7 at 4.00 p.m. on December 5.

The event will be presided over by Prof Kusuma Karunaratna. Prof Sunanda Mahendra and Dr. Praneeth Abhayasundera will address the gathering. A well-known literary critic and translator, Jayasuriya's translation of Totagamuve Sri Rahula Thera's Selalihini Sandesa won for him the State Literary Award for the best English translation in 2003.
