‘Sri Lankians’ in Dubai

Multilingual singers Sarath Samarawickrama with Sri Lankians (Sun Birds) a popular Calypso/Latin/folk band left for U.A.E. last week on a six months contract at a five star hotel . Sri Lankians have their own way of singing style, playing and harmony and arranging their folk music to suit the audience.

Some of their popular songs are 'Meegamu Malu'. 'Api Pavemu Maha Sayure' and 'Juliana' The very first disc done by them on Gemstone label featuring 'Thotiy' 'Bamaru'; 'Pethuma' 'Kaju Kello' were released way back in seventies. In Sri Lanka we have performed on contract at more than 20 hotels in Negombo, Bentota and Colombo for the past two decades. Also we have travelled and performed more than 40 countries and this is our fourth contract in UAE' Sarath said.
