* They say that the cricket authorities have done away with the travelling allowance given out for the umpires standing at local matches. Instead they are provided with direct transport. Reason – huge sums are claimed as transport fees saying that they are travelling from far away places while they are in Colombo. The Matara-Colombo van is now in operation.
