Two police, Army officers die in blast

Two police officers were killed in a claymore mine blast at Kalawanchchikudi in Batticaloa last morning while in another blast in Mannar an Army officer was killed.

A Police Inspector and a policeman were killed in the claymore mine explosion, the first since the area was cleared by the army in August. The officers were riding a motor cycle when the bomb hit it. Meanwhile, 12 rebels were killed when security forces attacked LTTE bunkers in Karapinthanmoddai, Vavuniya on Friday.
