Moji Akingbade

Moji Akingbade, General Manager of Paxar Lanka, a fully-owned subsidiary of Avery Dennison Retail Information Business in Sri Lanka, has been appointed as the new President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Sri Lanka, from December 2007, the chamber said.

Previously Vice President, Ms. Akingbade succeeds John Varley, Chief of Party of The Competitiveness Program (TCP), a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded project.

As the new President of AMCHAM, Ms. Akingbade plans to steer several key initiatives the Chamber has planned for 2008. "It will be my intention to continue to implement and execute the strategies that were laid down by the Board under the leadership of John Varley, whilst continuing to bring value to the membership by maintaining a strong balance sheet and the provision for an adequate infrastructure."

A British national, Ms. Akingbade has more than 18 years experience in the product identification/printing business. She began her career in the UK as an Account Executive in the printing industry and in 1997 moved to Sri Lanka in the capacity of Sales and Marketing Manager to assist with the start up operations of Ferguson Lanka.
