Havelock city car park - size of three rugby fields!

Car park still under construction

Spanning over three rugby fields with an area of nine acres, the car park of the up and coming Havelock City will easily be the largest in Sri Lanka and possibly South Asia. “Atop this massive car park will be a landscaped garden with cascading pools, lakes and boulder gardens and will be the only one of its kind,” said Remaz Ghouse, Deputy General Manager of Marketing for the Havelock City project and COO of Overseas Realty.

He said the entire project is spread over 19 acres of prime residential area. The project when fully completed will comprise of eight residential towers and a commercial complex with a hotel and serviced apartments, Ghouse told a press conference held at the premises this week. The first phase of the project, comprising of two residential towers are nearing completion and will be ready for occupation by mid 2008 while the entire project is slated for completion by 2010.

“Havelock City will afford its residents a one stop residential living concept, complete with parks and recreational areas, restaurants and shopping malls,” said Ghouse going on to describe is as a “City within a city”.

The total investment for this project is US$ 250 million and is developed by Mireka Capital Land (Pvt) Ltd is a joint venture between Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC and the Bank of Ceylon. Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC are the owners and managers of the World Trade Centre in Colombo. Pix shows the press conference in progess and the site.
