Kazakhstan flash a warning

By Rangi Akbar

Kazakhstan flashed a warning to the other teams in the Singer Rugby Asiad when they crushed Thailand 69-21 at the Royal Complex yesterday. Kazakhstan used their superior weight and speed to great advantage to collect their points through 7 goals and 4 tries. The Thais who impressed earlier with their ferret like play, managed only a goal, two tries and a penalty.

Outstanding for Kazakhstan was their powerfully built flanker Rodov Antovn, who had a hand in almost all the tries that they scored. The Kazakhs led 24-10 at half time and no time of the game was they in fear of losing the match.

Getting the try scorers name of both teams were a task in itself. Rodov Antovn, Mussalmenkav Armon, No 9 Sheshin and Cherkon Denis were some of the try scorers for the winners. A.R.T. Ong Prasertying, Thanwat Jankang Jan and Sikichai Daothai Song were prominent for Thailand.Referee: Nizam Jamaldeen
