Dialog to use BroadHop's Service Management Engine

BroadHop, an award-winning global supplier of subscriber service management solutions for IP triple-play networks, providing Dialog Telekom the use of its upcoming public wireless local area network (PWLAN) deployment.

The BroadHop SME provides out-of-the-box quality of service (QoS) management, service provisioning, subscriber management, user self-provisioning, customer care, billing, payments, and reporting for providers that deliver multiple services over carrier-class mobile, wireless, and wireline networks.

In the Dialog Telekom implementation, the BroadHop SME will interface with Cisco Systems' Services Selection Gateway (SSG) software that is installed on Cisco routers. The BroadHop SME will be responsible for receiving all authorisations and accounting records throughout the network. In addition, it will dynamically provision services on the SSG. In order to provide real-time accurate customer records, the SME maintains quota information for individual subscribers, tracks their usage, automatically stops services when quotas are reached, and/or manages credit card authorisations by directly interfacing with external banking systems.

Nushad Perera, Chief Marketing Officer, Dialog Telekom, said, "The BroadHop SME product was a logical choice for us because it offered a fast, reliable path to unprecedented customer service, allowing our customers to manage and monitor their usage and accounts in real time.”
