Miniature models on show

The Miniature Model Club of Sri Lanka (MMCSL) will present the third successful model Exhibition at the Maitland Hall of Mount Lavinia Hotel from the October 19 to 21 from 11.00 am. to 11.00 p.m.

Continuing on the success of the earlier two exhibitions, the Club is certain of a large and distinguished gathering on all days. As a non profit oriented, hobby club for gentlemen, the ticket price has been kept to a bear minimum.

The models on show will be the reckon Dinkys, Corgis, Matchbox, Solido, Rio, Lledo, Model Art and many other famous marques. There will be the Hornby and other makes of electric trains, airport layouts, model racing cars and motor cars, model boats and planes, model trucks, model lorries, ships and transport during the vintage years and a host of other exhibits. There will be scale model cars on sale by companies and there is car parking available.

Such model exhibitions are extremely popular worldwide for connoisseur collectors. The famous auction houses in the world consider them as miniature treasures. The Founder member of the MMCSL is genial Farih Fauz. The Committee comprises Desmond Atapattu, President, Milinda Hettiarachchi, Immediate Past President, Chandana Amaratunga,Secretary, Ali Azeez, Treasurer, Thusitha Atapattu, Yakoub Bin Ahmed, Russel de Saram, Hercil Fernando, Rishanka Fernandopulle, Ishan Raji, Oshan Samaranayake, Vinodh Wickremaratne and Criag Wilson.

Mount Lavinia Hotel which is renowned worldwide for unparalled cuisine, hospitality and personalized service offered in the tradition of excellence, is the premier host hotel for the event.
