OpenArc releases new generation software

OpenArc, among Sri Lanka’s pioneering software companies and an IT educational institute, recently celebrated its 15th anniversary with a huge celebration and releasing three new products.

OpenArc specializes in merchant banking, finance and industrial software solutions and the company in a statement says it is the market leader in certain segments of the markets such as leasing where 75% of members of leasing association use their software solution for business success.

The new products are OpenArc SkyBank (a new release of its industry leading banking solution namely, OpenArc eRIMS and OpenArc eSecretary (a solution for company secretaries to manage their company shares).

Commercial Bank Chairman Mahandra Amarasuriya who attended the occasion as the chief guest and spoke on the theme “Challenge to Change – Banking & Finance industry,” said present day customers are never satisfied and todays’ challenges for the bankers are to find more innovative methods to keep the customers’ ever demanding needs using newer tools such as Information Technology.

Chairman and CEO of OpenArc Daya Hettiarachchi said that 15 years ago when the company found its name OpenArc which stands for Open Architecture, the company saw the future of Open Technology, Open Source and Open World for the software industry and today it has been the reality. “At the time we started the company open software tools and technologies were not matured enough or not existent.

Today they are matured and OpenArc uses open technology and give the maximum flexibility to the customers unlike closed systems where customers’ choices are restricted,” he said.
