SimPhony common man's telephone launched in Kandy

CNS Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd., the latest entrant to the island's telecommunication sector, recently launched SimPhony - the common man's payphone rich in the state of the art technology, in Kandy. Coinciding with the Randoli Perahera of the Sacred Dalada Maligwa (Temple of The Tooth Relic) the launching ceremony took place at Dalada Maligawa premises. Gracing the occasion were H.E. President Mahinda Rajapaksa (Chief Guest), Tikiri Kobbekaduwa - the Governor, Central Province, Nilanga Dela Bandara - Diyawadana Nilame and U.G.R. Jagath Kumara- C.E.O. CNS Lanka. As part of the ceremony SimPhony payhones were donated to all the 13 Devales attached to the Dalada Maligawa. In addition, general public was offered free telecom service during the Perahera season.

"It was a great achievement for the CNS Lanka to have been able to provide SimPhony telecommunication service free of charge to thousands of ordinary people who came to Kandy during the Perahera season," a company spokesman said.
"CNS Lanka's SimPhony is now providing high quality telecommunication services to semi urban and rural sector on easy rates," he added.
