Cinema for children's day

Celebrating the World Children's day, free screening of favourite children's movies is organized by the National Film Corporation. On October 1, 10.30 am show in twelve NFC circuit cinemas around the country will be screened free of charge for children. Under this programme films movies "Suriya Arana", "Irasma", "Arumosam Wehi", "Spider Man-3", "Ping Pong", "Hai Baby Hai" and "Jim Pappa" will be screened in the theaters Contras- Dalugama, Chithra- Kalutara, Masha- Panadura, N. I. T.- Kurunegala, New Cinema- Matara, Wijendra-Anuradhapura, Jayanthi-Polonnaruwa, Ratnaweli- Ja-ela, Sagara- Chilaw, Seetha-Pilimatalawa, Raja- Jaffna, Shanthi- Batticaloa and Wasanthi- Vavuniya.

Parallel to the Children's Day, an International Children's Film Festival has also been organized in Ratnapura from October 1 to 5 . Organised by the Power and Energy Ministry in collaboration with Cinema Media Foundation world renowned children's film from India, Iran, Germany, Poland and Pakistan will be screened at New Imperial cinema, Ratnapura.

Starting with Sri Lankan film 'Rankevita' on October 1 at 10.00 am, Indian films 'Heda-Hoda' and 'Hide-N-Seek' will be screened at 8 am and 10 am. October 3- Iranian films 'Atal Matal Tootoole' and 'The Father' at 8 am and 10 am, October 4- Germany 'The Story of Little Mook' and 'Emile and Detectives' and on the final day October 5 Polish film ' In Desert and Wilderness' at 8 am and Pakistani film 'Qurbani' at 10 am. The chief guest for the event will be Power and Energy Minister, W. D. J. Seneviratne.
