ICICI Bank’s Deputy MD in Lanka

Deputy Managing Director, ICICI Bank, Ms Chanda Kochhar will be in Sri Lanka as the Guest of Honour and give the keynote address at the 19th Anniversary Convention of the Association of Professional Bankers (APB) on September 21.

During her brief stay in Sri Lanka Kochhar will review the Bank’s local operations and discuss future plans for expansion
The ICICI Deputy Managing Director was last year ranked 37th in the Fortune's List of Most Powerful Women in Business. She was ranked 47th in the very same list that was published in 2005.

The APB is being held on the theme “Financial Inclusion – An imperative need for sustained economic growth”. Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal is the Chief Guest at the convention.

The technical sessions will cover seven presentations by the relevant industry experts as listed below - Chandula Abeywickrema – Deputy General Manager – HNB, Kiatchai Sophastienphong – Senior Financial Sector Specialist, World Bank, Eran Wickramaratne – Deputy CEO – NDB, Aswin Wirjadi – Deputy President Director, Bank Central Asia, Indonesia, Nayana D P Dehigama – Chairman / Managing Director of Epic Lanka Group, Sri Lanka, Dinesh Weerakkody – Managing Director, Cornucopia Asia and Ross Checkley – Vice President, NCR Panelists for the CEO’s forum are - Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Director / Chief Executive - Dialog Telekom, Ariyaseela Wickremanayake, Managing Director – Pelawatte Sugar Industries Ltd, Chairman – Master Divers (Pvt) Ltd and Rajendra Theagarajah, Managing Director / CEO, HNB.
