Unilever campaign to encourage good health amongst staff

Unilever Sri Lanka has launched a campaign among its staff called “Vitality for Me” targeted at instilling the concepts of a healthy and happy life among all its employees.

The campaign, the company said, will encompass various activities over the next four months, under four main themes i.e. physical health, nutrition, mental resilience and spiritual wellbeing.

The overall objective of the campaign is to enable Unilever employees to become more energized, achieve more, feel good and get more out of life. Concurrently, Unilever is also conducting a comprehensive health assessment programme among its staff, which looks at diet, exercise, mental resilience and other health indicators.

The programme was launched last month at the Unilever head office in Grandpass with an activity to promote heart health. It was addressed by inspirational speaker Chandana Goonewardane who spoke on adopting a positive attitude to live a full life, as well as Nimal Jayaweera, senior physiotherapist from the Kandy National Hospital who made a presentation on exercise for healthy living and Dr. Indu Waidyathilake from the Kalubowila National Hospital who educated those present on heart health, identifying symptoms and suggesting preventive measures.
