Sri Lanka at International Customs Brokers meeting

Sri Lanka has been invited to attend a joint meeting of the Japanese Customs Broker Association (JCBA) and China Customs Brokers Association today in Yokohama, Japan under the Federation of Asia Oceania customs Broker Association (FAOCBA).

The theme of the meeting is “Comparative Study of Customs Brokerage including AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) and Information Technology” for the International Federation of Customs Brokers Association (IFCBA) members representing the Asia and Oceania region.

Australia, China, India, Korea and Japan are among the other countries attending the meeting in which M.S.M.Niyas, Chairman of ACFA, Association of Clearing & Forwarding Agents, is representing Sri Lanka.

The purpose of the study is to promote a better understanding of the different customs brokerage systems among FAOCBA members and interested countries in Asia so as to learn the strengths of each other and further improve the respective customs brokerage systems.
