Wake up regulators - letter

While the President is trying to implement the Mahinda Chinthana we find the Securities and the Insurance regulators taking it easy.

The Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange - CSE openly urges the state sector to list its companies. But officials of the CSE and SEC are globe trotting and warming their chairs. They should go out and get companies to list. The Chairmen of SEC and IBSL is also Chairman of Bank of Ceylon and his own private company. Where does he have the time for the capital markets? Is the government short of personnel? Besides the CEO of SEC is on one year study leave to do his MBA. That’s fine but then the capital markets must move. What is going on? Over to the President/Minister of Finance
