‘Sikuru Hathe’ kicks off

Giriraj Kaushalya's maiden film direction 'Sikuru Hathe' will start its release from August 15 on New Imperial circuit theatres including Savoy Cinema Colombo.

An action comedy revolving around a Kapuwa, the traditional matchmaker who faces a dilemma in finding a partner for his own daughter, the film marks well known film importer, New Imperial Talkies entrance to film production. Produced by Hans Anton Vanstarex for NIT, 'Sikuru Hathe' depicts how this traditional profession of matchmaking is threatened by the new technology.

Star studded cast including popular comedian in cinema and television are Wijaya Nandasiri, Susila Kottage, Rodney Warnakula, Anton Jude, Priyantha Seneviratne, Anaraklli Aakarssha and Hemantha Eeriyagama. The film also has veteran names like Tony Ranasinghe and Iranganie Serasinghe and other talented stars like Veena Jayakody, Himali Sayurangi, Suraj Mapa, Lalith Janakantha, Wasantha Vittachchi, Sarath Chandrasiri, Sarath Kothelawela, Lakshmi Damayanthi, Nimini Kottegoda and Somasiri Alakolanga.

Giriraj also has employed a group of behind the screen artistes Ruwan Costa for the camera, Tharupathy Munasinghe for the musical score and Ravindra Guruge for the editing.

Imal Shanaka Peiris handled the make up while Manoj Wickramasinghe was the art director. Newton Gunaskera assisted in direction while Jeyaprakash Sivagurunathan became the production designer with Sri Lal Wickramage joining as the production manager.

On an idea by the director 'Sikurur Hathe' has three songs which are completely different from each other. They are music directed by three welknown names Rohana Weerasinghe, Navaratne Gamage and Tharupathi Munasinghe and sung by Sunil Perera, Kasun Kalhara, Rodney Warnakula, Bandula Wijeweera and Uresha Ravihari.
