OpenArc celebrates 15 years in business

OpenArc Systems Management which launched its very long term voyage in 1992 to be a leader in software in the Asian region with a vision to serve 'Local First Global Next', is celebrating 15 years in the business, its chairman Daya Hettiarachchi said.

He said having being established as a leader in local software industry, the company is now geared for global market access. While Open Architecture and Open Software are the technology trends of tomorrow, OpenArc has demonstrated its long-term vision towards this technology by selecting the most futuristic name for the company and as its name depicts, management of systems is also the crucial need of every organization in business, he said in a press release.

A group of engineers formed OpenArc Systems Management with two employees in 1992 and today the company employees more than 100 people and the OpenArc group of companies includes its own IT manpower development facilities at its sister companies -- OpenArc School of Business and Technology and OpenArc College of International Studies.

Hettiarachchi said the vision of OpenArc is to build a world class software company that is financially and spiritually successful, through caring partnerships with stake holders and be closer to “the minds and hearts of the customers as a reliable, long term IT partner."

To mark the completion of 15, the company has launched a special scholarship programme for young school leavers with good advance level results but deprived of entrance to the University. OpenArc School of Business & Technology offers a three and a half year study programme leading to the BIT degree of University of Colombo completely free of charge and also offers training and job placement opportunity at the software development divisions at OpenArc Systems Management.
