Maharoof and Mapa guide NCC

Half centuries by Farveez Maharoof and Damith Mapa helped NCC to come out on top against Tamil Union at the end of the first day’s play in their Under 23 cricket encounter at the NCC grounds yesterday.
Maharoof was unfortunate to miss out on a century by two runs when he cracked 98 which included 15 boundaries and three sixes while Mapa’s knock of 72 comprised of seven boundaries. NCC declared their innings on 308 for 8 and Tamil Union in reply were 35 for 2. The match will be continued at 10.00 a.m. today. Amila cracks 105
A fine knock of 105 with eight boundaries and five sixes by Amila Sandaruwan saw Ragama CC end the day on a strong position in their match against KYCC played at the Thurstan Grounds.

Hans Fernando who made 102 with seven boundaries put on a fourth wicket stand of 100 with Janudika Sriyapala who made 51 to put SSC on top over Nugegoda SWC in their match played at the SSC grounds.
