Lucky sings with Tsunami children

Although Lucky Deva, the ex Golden Chimes, is known to us, as a musician, since lately he was involved in many community projects. The latest project is to sing for the tsunami victims in Moratuwa area. During the past two years, he was singing along with the Tsunami Children. victims.

‘For the last so many years I was engaged in several of activities at refugee camps with children in singing, dancing and drama to develop their talents. At the moment I'am conducting psycho-social and talent development programme at the Tsunami camps. Since the day of the tsunami I have been engaged in serving them continuously. These programmes are conducted by me on behalf of Tab Relief Organization’ he explained.

‘We are committed to serve the children. Though the educational level of the children is a bit lower than the average their external capabilities are commendable. They have shown satisfactory progress in Art, Dancing and Drama. I am conducting a children's club for further development and directing to promote them to be well disciplined children. We have laid an initial foundation to focus their attention on good habits’ he said.

Lucky and his team are now sow seeds of good qualities in their young minds, and they are confident that in the future they will gather the good fruits.‘We are promoting them to be useful citizens in society. Some will march forward through their efforts’ he added. To bring the children of the coastal belt to some stranded is a bit tiresome no doubt. And it cannot be done quickly.

‘Our main task is to develop their personality. This is conducted in team work, which has shown keenness and interest among them. In addition to the Lunawa job camp, we conduct the same classes in the Angulana, Kandawala, Koralawella camps respectively'. ‘Our efforts are not just make a fairyland to these children, but to make them happy through their capabilities and talents’.

Tab Relief Organization - provides children with the daily requirements for their education, such as books, clothes, shoes and food too. This was one of our projects and we do involved in housing and other big projects too. ‘Although I involved in these programmes, that didn't mean I have given up music I have not given up my part in the musical band. As usual I get on with the normal routine’.

‘I hope to give the final touches of the latest CD of mine that will be released soon. Also I am planning to release a children's song's CD. with Tsunami Children on vocal with other popular child singers’
