AMCHAM leverages competitive advantage of IT

The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AMCHAM) recently organized a capacity building programme for senior IT Personnel, with the objective of leveraging competitive advantages of Information Technology.

Concentrated over two and half days, the programme covered areas such as IT as a Strategic Enabler, IT Infrastructure, IT Project Management, Process Standards, Human Resource Management, Software Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, Information Security, Design & Management. Amongst other leading speakers, the programme was graced by the eminent IT Guru Brian Behlendorf (USA), the primary developer of Apache, one of the most sought-after web server software on the Internet, according to an AMCHAM statement.

The programme was facilitated by top industry professionals like Prasath Nanayakkara, Madu Ratnayake and Ruwindhu Peiris from Virtusa, Sriyan de Silva Wijeratne of Microsoft Sri Lanka, Ismail Radwan from the World Bank, Ramesh Shanmuganathan from John Keells Group, Preethi Wanasinghe and Iresh Bandara from WNS Sri Lanka, Prasad Kularatne from IBM, Dr. Shahani Weerawarna from ICTA and Samanthie Gunasekara from MillenniumIT.
