Hilmy quits non-exec board roles in Sri Lanka

MTI’s Bahrain-based CEO Hilmy Cader has relinquished all his non-executive board positions in Sri Lanka in order to provide greater focus on MTI Consulting and its growing local and international operations, the company announced this week.

The boards he has relinquished from includes Aitken Spence Hotels, Hayleys Consumer, Hayleys Industrial and Delmege Distributors. He also served a 3-year stint on the Hemas Consumer Board between 2000 and 2003.

In a statement Cader said due to increasing international travel, the need to focus on the consulting business (MTI), is making it increasingly difficult “for me to dedicate the time required for the non-executive director role.”

He said he enjoyed these roles and working with some of the best companies and best brains in the business in which he singled out Sunil Mendis, Rajan Yatawara, Tanky Wickremaratne, Ricky Mendis and Rajan Britto from whom he learnt a lot.
