Bouquet for Sirasa

Mrs Nalini Elapata of Panadura writes.....

For the last three months from time- to-time we have seen a galaxy of beautiful girls on the Siraza TV. The sight of these lovely maidens cheer us up and make us happy. These girls are blessed and fortunate to possess good heath and good looks. My view is that they could do some good deeds beneficial to the less fortunate in return for gods gifts that have been bestowed on them.

Perhaps Sirasa and the organisers of the Avurudu Kumari contests, could organise girls, who are willing, to visit Homes for the Aged, Homes for the differently abled children, Hopsital wards etc.

They could take some food and delicacies and may sing a few songs to the inmates to cheer them up and make them forget their sorrows. As a member of the Lions Club and Housewives Association Panadura, I have along with others visited these Homes and Wards and seen the joy in the faces of the inmates and heard their words of appreciation.

When we visited them the inmates used to try and join us in the singing or clap their hands or tap their feet. They were overjoyed.

These were touching moments to us. The organizers and Sirasa should be congratulated for putting up a Super Show. I am sure Sri Lankans will say ‘Hats off to Sirasa’, if Sirasa could telecast a few good deeds done to help the less fortunate in our society.
The telecasting of this kind of programmes would further motivate others to carry out similar programmes.
