Open Day at Lankan Embassy in Berlin

Sri Lanka was one of many countries which participated in the ‘All Nations Day’ held in Berlin on June 30. The doors of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin were opened to the German public to have a glimpse of the country.

According to a press release from the Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin, the ‘open day’ in summer is a highlight of the Embassy’s promotional activities.

The Chancery and garden were turned into a mini-Sri Lankan bazaar, showcasing artifacts, handicrafts, culinary delights, gems, ayurveda products, fresh fruits, art and music. A tourism promotional film was shown throughout the day and was viewed by all visitors.

Home-made traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry and sweets were very popular with the German visitors.

Sri Lankan music and dance performed by the children of Sri Lankan expatriates living in Berlin which added colour to the day’s events were enjoyed by the hundreds of visitors who passed through the gates of the Embassy.
