RPC Logistics joins international network

RPC Logistics Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Richard Pieris & Company Ltd, has joined the global prestigious ‘Logistics International Net Work (LINK)’.

RPC’s logistics arm, established in 2004 as part of the Richard Pieris Groups’ extensive diversification plan, joined LINK, an international network of dynamic, independent and privately owned freight forwarding/logistics companies for industry development and value addition.

Commenting on RPC’s entry into the logistics industry, Franklyn Mendis, Managing Director of RPC Logistics was quoted in a company press release as saying, “With the stiff competition and certain negative impacts of globalisation, transportation and logistics industry has still shown a positive growth globally. The highest growth has been in the Far East and The South East Asian regions.”

He said with the objective of regionalizing its operations, the company extended operations to Bangladesh and established RPC Logistics Bangladesh (Private) Ltd. in 2006, which is a fully owned subsidiary of RPC Logistics.
