By Susitha R. Fernando

Latest of the Die Hard action thriller 'Live Free or Die Hard' or Die Hard 4.0 with former lone wolf cop action hero Bruce Willis is now being screened at the Majestic Cinema Colombo.

A worldwide release began on June 27, 20th Century Fox film is imported and released by CEL. The fourth instalment in the Die Hard film series, the film comes 19 years after the first film and sees McClane face a gang of Virtual Terrorists. The film based on the 1997 article A Farewell to Arms written for Wired magazine by John Carlin.

In the first release in the series, "Die Hard" - (1988, 131 min.) - Bruce Willis statred as a lone cop locked in a desperate battle against terrorists who have taken over a Los Angeles high-rise in the blockbuster action thriller that started it all! "Die Hard 2: Die Harder" (1990, 131 min.) - A rogue U.S. special forces unit celebrates Christmas by hijacking an entire Washington, D.C. airport. Their plan to crash all in-coming flights until an imprisoned dictator is released is flawless except for one detail: off-duty cop John McClane. "Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance" (1995, 124 min.) - When a psychopathic criminal who calls himself "Simon" plants bombs throughout the city of Manhattan, washed-out cop John McClane finds himself in a race against time: not only to defuse the bombs but to uncover the truth behind Simon's madness.

Now in the fourth and the latest release 'Live Free or Die Hard', McClane faces a gang of Virtual Terrorists. On the Fourth of July weekend, an attack on the vulnerable United States infrastructure begins to shut down the entire nation. The mysterious figure behind the scheme has figured out every modern angle...but he never figured on McClane - the old-school "analog' fly in the "digital' ointment.

It's the beginning of the holiday, but New York City Detective McClane isn't celebrating. He's had yet another argument with his college-age daughter Lucy, and received a crushingly routine assignment to bring in a young hacker, Matt Farrell, for questioning by the FBI. But for McClane, the ordinary has a habit of exploding into the extraordinary - abruptly hurtling him into the wrong place at the wrong time.

With Farrell's help, McClane slowly begins to understand the increasing chaos surrounding him. An attack is underway on the vulnerable United States infrastructure, shutting down the entire nation. The mysterious figure behind the scheme, Thomas Gabriel, stays several moves ahead of McClane as he implements his incredible plans, known to uber-geeks like Farrell as a "fire sale".
