Opening batsman Lahiru Thirimanne and Ashan Priyanjan made Bangladesh toil hard in the first two session of play with the duo putting on a valuable partnership of 110 runs in 144 balls for the second wicket to put the Sri Lanka Under 19 team on top in the post lunch session.

The pair joined together after the dismissal of opener Srimantha Wijeyeratne who was unfortunate to be stumped when he was just getting into his stride. Srimantha made a breezy 31 which included four hits to the ropes.

The pair hosted the 100 run stand in 131 balls before the end of Priyanjan came having made a valuable 61 from 82 balls with nine boundaries. Thirimanne did not last long thereafter as he too was back at the pavilion after having made a dogged innings of 66 in 123 balls that also included nine boundaries.

Later in the day the Lankans were helped by useful knocks from Shameera Weerasinghe, Nisham Mazahir and Roshane Silva which saw them reach the 300 run mark.

The wickets for Bangladesh were shared by spinners Nasir Hossain skipper Mahmudul Hasan and Tatosh Gosh after the pacies were given a bashing by the batsmen in the morning session.
