Prasad, Nawela, Janudhika and Pallewela crack tons

The Under 23 cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket which got underway yesterday in and around the Colombo suburbs saw some high scoring games. The first day’s play produced four centurions with the top score coming from Nadeera Nawela of Moors who cracked a 166 from 232 balls with 18 boundaries and four sixes. The next best came from Chandima Prasad of Army who cracked an unbeaten 155 inclusive of 21 boundaries and two sixes. The other two tons were by Janudhika Sriyapala of SSC who made an unbeaten 120 and Prasanna Pallewela of Seeduwa/Raddoluwa SC making 104.

Army on top

A third wicket stand of 211 between Chandima Prasad and Seekuge Prasanna helped Army to make a formidable score of 332 for 4 before declaring on the opening days play against Panadura played at the Panadura Esplanade yesterday.
