Fifteen bodies of LTTE cadres found: Military

Army commandos carrying out clearing operations in the Thoppigala area yesterday found 15 bodies of LTTE cadres, military sources said. It is believed that the Tigers were killed when they were fleeing in two tractors on Friday evening and were fired at by the commandos.

Military spokesman Prasad Samarasinghe said the security forces had also recovered a number of booby traps and anti-personnel mines. “The troops have found the remains of 15 dead Tigers, but some of the bodies are in pieces ... so there could be more,” Brigadier Samarasinghe said.
