Appeal for full opening of entry points

The GAs for Mannar, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi have appealed to the security forces to open the entry points at Omanthai and Uyilankulam on all seven days in the week to improve the food situation in the Wanni.The appeal was made by the Mannar, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi GAs.

Meanwhile the UN Acting Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator JoAnna van Gerpen referring to The Sunday Times news report titled “UN:Govt. blocking fuel supplies to its Wanni offices” said that since the former UN Resident Coordinator wrote to Defence Minister Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the fuel quota for June for UN offices in the Wanni has been authorized by the Defence Ministry and delivered.
