Kurunegala entrepreneurs benefit from EYB workshop

The objective of this presentation was to assist entrepreneurs in obtaining practical knowledge and to utilize their skills to expand their businesses and accomplish their needs through EYB training modules

The SIYB Association of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the International Labour organization’s ‘Enter Growth’ office at Kurunegala recently organized an awareness presentation of EYB (Expand Your business) for SME entrepreneurs.

The objective of this presentation was to assist entrepreneurs in obtaining practical knowledge and to utilize their skills to expand their businesses and accomplish their needs through EYB training modules, according to an SIYB press release.

Manager of ILO Enter Growth office Shamalee Randeniya said that the SME entrepreneurs in the Kurunegala district were showing gradual progress.

“This is because they are faced with different problems such as insufficient funds, lack of professional skill, limited guidance in entrepreneur development of their business and to qualify themselves into the export market.”

She said that the EYB skill development programme introduced by the SIYB Association provides the required techniques to the entrepreneurs to overcome the obstacles that come in their way in an effective manner to take forward their business successfully.

EYB (Expand Your business) consists of five modules. They are Strategic Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, Operational Management and Financial Management. The entrepreneurs can select their desired module that will be applicable to their needs of enhancing their business.
