Commercial Credit Ltd helps Medirigiriya hospital

At the opening of the new OPD hospital

Commercial Credit Ltd recently refurbished the OPD of the Medirigiriya Hospital under a Corporate Social Responsibility project.
The Kandy-based finance company said in a press release it painted and set up new curtains, brightening the drab surroundings and making it a pleasant place for the doctors and nursing staff and all those involved with day-to-day work.

Its Chairman Vagdevi Fernando said that Commercial Credit Ltd opened its first branch at Hingurakgoda in 1993 and since then has been serving the farming community. “We are one of the first financial institutions to organize a Tractor Pola at Kekirawa where all the tractor dealers met under one roof and displayed their products and provided the farmers with the best easy term facilities for their requirements,” she said at a ceremony to mark the occasion.

Speaking on behalf of the hospital, Dr Nalin Ranasinghe thanked Commercial Credit for helping a rural hospital. He said that when staff appointments are given to rural places such as Medirigiriya it was like being sent on punishment transfer but things have changed a lot now.
