JBJ creates a complicated quadrangle

Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (Dance Baby Dance) a story of two young couples who fall into a complicated quadrangle now screens at the Liberty cinema Colombo.

Directed by Shaad Ali who is famed for his earlier 'Saathiya' (2002) and 'Bunty Aur Babli '(2005), the four young characters are played by Abhishek Bachchan , Preity Zinta , Lara Dutta and Bobby Deol . The film was produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra under Yash Raj Films.

At a busy London station, two strangers Rikki Thukral (Abhishek Bachchan) and Alvira Khan (Preity Zinta) wait for their respective fiancés. Rikki is the fun-loving boy from Bhatinda whilst Alvira is the princess from Lahore who considers herself to be more British. The two share a table together and to kill time they talk about how they met their partners to be.

Rikki met his fiancé Anaida Raza (Lara Dutta) at the Hôtel Ritz Paris, the same night that Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al-Fayed left the hotel and took their last journey together. He is madly in love with Anaida and appropriately says "When two lovers die, another two are a born". Alvira on the other hand met her fiancé at Madame Tussauds in London. She was saved by the dashing Steve Singh (Bobby Deol) when the Superman wax model nearly falls on her. This one encounter changed her life and she was smitten by the dashing lawyer. As Rikki and Alvira talk they begin to enjoy each other's company. There differences and backgrounds do not matter anymore but the two hours talking together creates an attraction between the two. Their brief encounter has created a complicated situation where Rikki and Alvira must try and overcome their emotions and find the eight solution.

The film also has Amitabh Bachchan in a marginal role. Shooting began in the second half of 2006 in London and included locations in Paris, France. Many images from the set show shooting being conducted at Waterloo Station, London. Some shooting took place in Agra, near the Taj Mahal. 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' was released by EAP Films.
