Australian institute launches management programmes

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia (ICMA) will be conducting another Management Development Programme in Sri Lanka this month.

These programmes are now on its 12th intake, and are conducted in technical collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL), the premier accounting body in the country, an ICASL press release said.

The educational objectives of the ICMA are to further the development of management accounting education in Australia and Asia, to encourage research into the application of management theory and practice, and to provide continuing professional development for its members. In order to achieve these objectives, several educational programmes have been implemented by ICMA, it said.

In Sri Lanka, the Australian ICMA's advanced programme leads to certification of suitably qualified graduate members as "Certified Management Accountant (CMA)". The advanced programme to be held in Sri Lanka in during June 11 to 19, will be conducted by the CPE Business School of ICASL, and is titled "Strategic Management Accounting".
