Acid throwing case postponed for Oct. 2

The Lalith Ambanwela acid throwing case was postponed for October 2 when it came before Kandy’s High Court Judge Nalin Perera.

The seven accused were ordered to furnish cash bail in Rs. 25,000 each and surety bail of Rs. 100,000 each. The seven accused are Central Province Education Department Chief Accountant Ananda Weerasinghe, Education Director Ananda Munasinghe, businessman Mohamed Razeek Rehan, M.Seyadu Mohamed Razak, L.M.Mohamed Niloufer, M.M.R.Rahaman and Mohamed M.M.Imitiaz.

The fifth accused Niloufer who was absconding was arrested at Badulla and the bail offered to him confiscated. In this case seven accused faces charges of throwing acid on the Government Auditor Lalith Ambanwela.
