Telekom Malaysia ups investment in Dialog  
It may have been just coincidence that the top brass of Telekom Malaysia TM, Dialog Telekom’s parent, were in town even as posters appeared on Monday on city streets opposing Maxis’ planned buyout of a stake in SLT.
 
Customs forging ahead with Distilleries Co probe

Officials at the Customs Department say they are forging ahead with their investigation into alleged fraud by the Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka (DCSL) despite threats they have received in an effort to halt the probe.

 
Pussellawa Plantations to go public this year

Pussellawa Plantations Ltd is to list on the Colombo Stock Exchange this year with the government planning to shed some of its stake in the company. “We hope to be listed on the stock market within the next six months because the government wants to divest some of its interests,” said CEO of Pussellawa Plantations, Lucille Wijewardena.

The government is going ahead with the US$125 million Weerawila Airport project due to be ready by 2010 amidst speculation that the site is to be shifted to a massive block of land in close proximity to Hambantota to benefit a prominent personality.
