Ragama CC and Saracens advance to finals

An unbroken partnership of 114 runs between Kaushalya Weeraratne who made an unbeaten 76 from 40 balls with three boundaries and five sixes and Ranesh Perera (35) saw Ragama CC coasting to an easy six wicket win over Tamil Union in their inter-club Twenty20 semi final encounter played at the CCC grounds.

Ragama were back to the wall on 35 for 4 in the seventh over till Kaushalya and Ranesh took control and saw them through to the final. Ragama will meet Saracens in the final to be played at the Colts grounds today from 11.00 a.m. onwards.

Ruchira 65 in 26 balls

An entertaining knock of 65 in just 26 balls which included two boundaries and eight sixes by skipper Ruchira Palliyaguruge helped Saracens to record a two wicket win over Chilaw Marians in the match played at Reid Avenue to advance to the finals of the inter-club Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Saracens chasing a score of 168 were struggling on 88 for 7 in the 13th over before Palliyaguruge came and smothered the Marians to all corners of the field.
