Defending champs KSC unbeaten

Radella, Saturday – In a battle of attrition between defending 7’s champions Kandy SC and CR & FC (group A) provided exciting rugby to the avid fans here, today.

In the much look-forward to 1st –leg of the Singer 7s year 2007 tournament both CR & FC and Kandy SC displayed skilful running rugby. Kandy displaying better co-ordination led 12-0 at the short-whistle. But the Red Shirts fought back but were unlucky not to score. But seconds before the short whistle CR and FC did plant a solitary try to make it 12-5. Kandy SC heads group A and are strongly poised to enter the last four along with CR & FC who are placed second in the same group.

Today with pleasant conditions prevailing. Fans are assured of good 7s.

The quarter-finals kick off at 11.20 a.m. Mr. Hemaka Amarasuriya Chairman, Singer Sri Lanka group will be the chief guest while legendary Ken Murray, a rugby stalwart of Dimbulla will be the guest of honourResults after lunch break: Air Force bt. Old Zahirians 36-10, CR&FC bt. Police 42,7.
