Channel One MTV gets two new frequencies

MTV Channels (pvt) Ltd has unveiled plans to launch its flagship English TV channel, ‘Channel One MTV’ as an 18-hour channel on two new frequencies UHF 58 and 51.

"The channels programming line-up is nothing short of world-class, with the very best of Hollywood on offer. Partnering with the world’s biggest names in entertainment Channel One MTV has been crafted to appeal to a wide English speaking audience," said Mano Wikramanayake, Group Director of the Capital Maharaja Organization. CBS-Paramount, Warner Bro's, Fox, Buena Vista, NBC-Universal are some of the big US studios partnering Channel One MTV, with many winning programme deals secured by the channel in Los Angeles.

"The programming and sales strategy was devised after a long and tedious process of indepth research into audience habits and viewing trends. The end result is relentless, unimpeded entertainment, "noted Chevaan Daniel, Channel Head for MTV.

The channels programming line-up is divided into 7 clearly defined 'tiers', based on the target audience.

The David Letterman Show, Entertainment Tonight, Ellen, The Tyra Banks Show, Blade (All New), Jericho (All New), Bones (All new), Shark (All new), Smallville and Supernatural are just some of the programmes you will find in the new line-up. The channel will also bring back TV classics like Dynasty. Kids will be treated to cartoons straight from the Warner brothers treasure trove as well as other award-winning animations.
