President grounds Jeyaraj

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has turned down a request by Consumer Affairs Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle to make an official visit to Taiwan.

He was to have travelled on a trade related matter.

Following the rejection, Mr. Fernandopulle had requested that he be allowed to proceed in his personal capacity. This too has been turned down.
