Now, where in Sri Lanka is ‘Kolpity’?

Anyone passing Jayawardenapura Mawatha towards Colombo from the Parliament roundabout, just passing the turn-off to Etul Kotte, can see on top of a gantry across the road to Borella, names of towns and the distance for same.

We should thank the RDA or any authority for their guidance. What I cannot fathom is the name “Kolpity” which is invariably for Colpetty or Kollupitiya.

Nowhere has the word “Kolpity” been used. One should pity the genius who coined this peach of a word but expect the responsible authority to change this laughable word if necessary.
