Stern but loving, she’s missed by all - 3rd month remembrance

~ Madura Amarasekera

A wife to one
A mother to four
A grandmother to seven
A sister to eleven

She left us all in tears
In the early hours of Oct. 10, 2006
A light from our household gone forever
A voice we loved is stilled
A place vacant in our home which can never be filled

She was the strongest wife
Standing stern through thick and thin
Her show of affection was never overt
Those close to her knew how deeply she loved
Oh how dearly he misses her!

She was the dearest mother
Two sons and two daughters
How she handled them and their mischief!
Brought them up to be who they are now
Was always there for her children
Even though they were children no more
Oh how dearly they miss her!!
She was the most adorable grandmother
To seven of us who resembled her four own
Strict at times when we proved to be brats!
Everloving as she knew we were only living out our childhood
Gifting us with her own when we progressed
Taking our side when our parents scolded.
Even though she had done the same
Oh how dearly we miss her!!

Even though you are gone
In our hearts your memory lives on.
Where ever you may be
On the path toward Nirvana
May you be happy and blessed.

By Devini Ginige – Grand-daughter

A sanghika dane will be held in memory of you today. We love you and miss you. Husband Stanley, children and grandchildren
