Multilac - Sri Lanka’s export brand of the year

Multilac Paints has been awarded the coveted Best Export Brand of the Year award at the recent NCE Export Awards 2005 organized by the National Chamber of Exporters. The awards held earlier this month also saw Mackson Paints walk off with the Silver Award for the Industry Sector in the large company category.

The annual export awards honour exporters for business excellence and their contribution to the country, according to a company press release.

The “Best Export Brand of the Year” was one of the main individual awards at the NCE Export awards and was open to those exporting under a Sri Lanka-owned brand.

Winning the award was another significant milestone for Macksons Paint Industries, manufacturers of Multilac, which has in the short space of twenty five years established a global brand and become the country’s largest paint exporter.

Mizver Makeen the Managing Director of Multilac said being recognized as the Best Export Brand of the Year is an endorsement of “our efforts to instill the best quality processes and international standards within our company.”

He said they were proud to gain global recognition for a truly Sri Lankan brand. The honours at the NCE Export Awards closely followed the company’s stellar performance at the NCCISL’s National Business Excellence Awards in November, where it bagged the Gold Awards in the Manufacturing Sector, as well as the Medium Sector and a Silver in the overall category.

Multilac Paints is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company and is the country’s largest exporter of paints with markets in India, Maldives, Myanmar, Australia, China and the US.
