Loku Duwa appears on Rupavahini

Veteran filmmaker Sumithra Peiries' 'Loku Duwa' (Eldest Daughter) will be screened at 12.15 pm today, December 31 on Rupavahini.

The film screening comes in the festival, ‘Sahithyayen Cinematawa’ (From literature to Cinema) telecast by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation to feature films that were made based on works of well-known writers in Sri Lanka.

Made in 1996 the film was based on a popular novel by Edward Mallawarachchi. The story depicts a middle-class woman who devotes her life for the betterment of her parents and brothers and sisters ultimately ends up becoming the mistress of a rich man.

The film stars Gamini Fonseka, Geetha Kumarasinghe, Joe Abeywickrema, Irangani Serasinghe, Kamal Addararachchi, Jackson Anthony, Nadeeka Gunasekara and Veena Jayakody.
