Did they rob for kicks or cash?

Kandy Acting Magistrate and Primary Court Judge Ms. Jayakee de Alwis ordered cash bail in Rs. 2500 and rupees one million in surety bail on each of the ‘student' suspects in a house breaking and robbery incident in the Katugastota Police area. The four suspects are from a leading school and are from affluent homes with one being the son of a top Army officer and another the son of a senior public servant.

The complainant in the incident is a University don living in Polgolla. The Katugastota Police initially inquired into the complaint and then handed the suspects over to the District Crime Bureau in Kandy for further investigations. Attorney-at-Law Nanda Senanayake appeared for the suspects.
