Awards for O/L students with straight ‘A’s

Bright students of the Central Province who had excelled in their G.C.E. Ordinary Level examinations obtaining ten As were awarded a medal and cash prizes by the Central Provincial Council.

The Chief Guest at the function was Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa.

Associated with the governor was Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake.

Hundred and seventy one students from the Provincial schools secured ten ‘A’s and all were awarded prizes at the Mahamaya Girl’s School Auditorium.

Kandy Girls' High School had the highest number of 33 students while Kingswood College followed second and Dharmaraja College came third.
